Kids.Net.au is an Australian 'not for profit' kids safe portal, that is updated and maintained by a team of volunteers.

Kids.Net.au went online in 2003 and at first just included a directory of kids safe web sites, since then the site has grown into much more offering a dictionary, thesaurus and encyclopedia, with more to come.

The site was created by Nathan Rose, who developed Kids.Net.Au while studying at the University of Western Sydney (UWS) and volunteering at the Children's Hospital at westmead. "I wanted to create a site that contained information relevant to kids, offering websites and information that children actually wanted.". Nathan is now a teacher in Sydney's Western Suburbs and along with our team of online volunteers, helps maintain the site.
